It has been built following the slope of the mountains. It has been completely restored in its original style with traditional materials by the paesants who lived here. During the restructuring they discovered frescoes of a church wall datable at the second half of 15th century attributable to the Caldarola (an italian painter), but after the earthquake, the wall collapsed and on the most ancient wall, a crucifixian appeared datable to 20th century.
If you go for a walk among the typical alleys of the village by admiring porches, staircases, squares and commercial establishments used as old crafts, you’ll breathe an ancient air of history!
To enter into the castle, you can take the fascinating staircase or a modern lift. In the castle you will find a restaurant, a bar, shops, and an hotel. From the village there is a breathtaking panorama: a crown of verdant mountains in front of the castle! Postignano is the ideal place for history lovers but also for them who wish to pass a relaxing vacation immersed in the green umbrian nature!
